Sr. Graphic Designer

Sr. Graphic Designer on the Shopping Design team, responsible for homepage asset approvals.
Collaborate with 100+ partner teams to review, approve and art direct over 40,000 individual assets annually that appear on the Amazon homepage.
Ensure assets and campaigns are within homepage, brand and content guidelines.
Conduct monthly training sessions, team syncs and weekly office hours with new and existing partners to uphold homepage best practices.
Track metrics and communicate success with newly onboarded teams.
Design mock-ups and visual examples of homepage assets.
Visual design support for the wider team.

Examples:

Guidelines Example: Lifestyle Image

No: Lifestyle image was too short, creating an awkward hard edge above Mobile Dashboard Cards.
Yes: Image was increased in size to go behind Dashboard Cards and blended with a fade that matches the background colors.

Guidelines Examples: Single Product Image

No: Product image is small, lacking visual balance and interest.
Yes: Product image is large and exciting. Lower color block added to ground product and help with color contrast against Dashboard Cards.

Guidelines Example: Product Shadows

No: Product images have inconsistent and poorly rendered shadows.
Yes: Shadows are all similar. Appear to have a single light source, making the product grouping look more realistic

Guidelines Example: Badges

No: Badges are not allowed on Homepage. The badge is large and distracting.
Yes: Badge copy is incorporated into the headline. Frees up space to increase the size of the product image.

Design Example: Color Contrast / Lifestyle Image

No: Background lacks color contrast of 1.2:1 against white. Lifestyle image ends awkwardly above Dashboard Cards.
Yes: Background color has been adjusted to meet accessibility issues. Lifestyle image has been increased in size to fade behind the Dashboard Cards.

Design Example: Safe Zone

No: Image and copy falling outside the safe zone.
Yes: Mock-up created as an example of how product images and copy will work within the Homepage safe zone.
